Acceleration/Previewing/Vocabulary: wiki, blog, RSS, web page, publish, public

Teaching Strategies and Distributed Guided Practice/Summarizing Prompts:
  • Teach student how to edit a wiki space.
    • edit page
    • edit text
    • add link
    • add pictures
  • Assign topics to students to be published on the class wiki page.
  • Students will create an article that contains
    • text, in thier own words explaining what they have learned about the topic
    • a quote from a good web source with proper citation
    • a picture from the web with proper citation
    • relevant links to other web pages related tothe topic.
  • Show example of a good page.
